This is an example post, originally published as part of Blogging University. Enroll in one of our ten programs, and start your blog right.
You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.
Why do this?
- Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
- Because it will help you focus you own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.
The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.
To help you get started, here are a few questions:
- Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
- What topics do you think you’ll write about?
- Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
- If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?
You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.
Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.
When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.

Fashion Fundas is a well known fashion design institute in Pune founded by Mrs. Kamartaj Pathan in the year 2000. A recognized Singer India sewing school, it is well equipped with state-of-the art infrastructure for fashion designing courses, stitching, sketching, hand embroidery and fashion technology. Even after an illustrious career spanning 25 years, Mrs Pathan feels that her journey has only begun and there is so much more to explore.
Mrs. Pathan started in the field of Fashion as a teenager freelancing for leading newspapers and magazines. She was inspired from her mother who spent 40 years as a Diploma teacher for Tailoring Courses. She has inherited much of her teaching skills from her mother who strongly believed that best education comes from a versatile teacher. After undergoing a formal education in Fashion and closely studying the Indian and International Fashion circuit, she realized that there were lot of gaps in Fashion Education and the expectations of the Industry. Particularly lacking was a disciplined, hands-on approach with focus on latest trends in the industry and development of entrepreneurial skills that can give a sound foundation for the students to begin their journey in the world of Fashion.
Fashion Fundas academy was started by Mrs. Pathan as an experiment in the year 2000 with the support of her family. Her mode of teaching, the modules she covered with key focus on hands-on training and opportunities to showcase talent in various events were soon recognized and appreciated by her students. She kept on getting good response and there was no looking back. At Fashion Fundas, its one year course is career oriented – students start taking orders for work from first month itself. This way, on completion of the course, the student has not only learnt the art of fashion design, she also has a ready customer base to cater to. Mrs. Pathan has also actively collaborated with leading brands for their activities and events which also gives good exposure for her students. In her pursuit of excellence, Mr. Imran Mulla (MS from UK) and Mr. Mkhh Jilani (IIMB Alumnus), who are experts in education sector, are mentoring and guiding Mrs. Pathan and helping her for the growth and expansion of Fashion Fundas.
Kamartaj Pathan actively participated in Fashion and Pageant related activities since the start. Mentoring,Judging, Grooming Contestants for Indian/ International Pageants worldwide.
